Our Journey

Founder's Story

TeenTechSF began with an empty room.

“In my sophomore year of high school,
I showed up for my school's first tech club meeting

— but no one else did.

Faced with an empty room, I decided to use tech tools
to reinvent the school club as an interactive tech community
that reaches beyond classroom walls
to give all teens equal access to tech resources and opportunities,
empowering and inspiring the next generation of tech innovators
to impact our community, our world."

Today, the room is full.

Find out more about how TeenTechSF went from an empty room
to 2000 teens on five continents on a mission
to innovate, collaborate, and create for a better world.

Core Values

TeenTechSF is an interactive tech community for teens to innovate, collaborate, and create.

“Tech is the new American Dream.
It doesn’t matter if you are young or old, rich or poor,
or what your race, culture, gender, religion is
— a great idea is a great idea.”

”Diversity fuels innovation.
Research shows that a more diverse team is a more innovative team.
We need everybody’s ideas, and we need to be able to work

together to turn those ideas into reality.”

Bringing the Spirit of Valley to the World

”Some people think of a computer as just a faster typewriter
or a way to play games or chat with friends.
My computer is my office, my library, my laboratory, my soapbox...

Technology is not just a tool, it's a culture that enables us to change the world.”
